Portal has always been a really interested game for me as a Gameplay Programmer. This project is a recreation of the portal mechanics with Unreal Engine.
As a solo-developer on this project, the main objectives were to keep a very close eye on time management and tasks completion. This also was especially true as a few 3D assets were outsourced.
The main challenged faced was the difficulties to fit in the schedule as there was always something more that needed to be fixed, added, replaced etc. from the gameplay programming side.
The solution for this simple problem was to know how to say no, which may seem obvious, but it was difficult when I was also acting as the programmer.
