PROJECT MANAGEMENT
OBJECTIVE
The main objective for Phase 86 was to manage a large team composed of different departments and manage all the different timetables, assure all members manage to complete their tasks by the assigned deadline.
CHALLENGE
- There was a challenge in the form of miscommunication of the project objectives within the core team.
- Additionally, we faced challenges with the "recruitment" of 3D and 2D artists at the beginning of the project.
- The task distribution also caused a challenge for one specific member of the team.
SOLUTION
- After the miscommunication was clearly identified, we quickly set up weekly meetings to make sure the core team were all well-informed on where the project was heading. This had to be performed twice on some occasions as some members were working from home.
- The challenge we faced with the 3D and 2D artists was a large issue that caused a large time loss as the artists had joined other groups within our class. As such we reached out to our contacts and had to reduce and adapt the scope of the project to ensure all the tasks could still be completed on time.
- The task distribution challenge was caused by multiple members having the same specialization, so it required some adjustments to the roles, tasks and schedule. Some members had to take upon multiple roles to allow for the project to progress smoothly.
